www.TipsByTopic.ca is a website that I designed, developed and launched recently. The concept is to get users to submit their top tips or best practices for a range of topics that span from personal finance to technology, fitness, fashion, travel. Users will be able to vote up or vote down each tip depending on how helpful they feel it is.
The end goal is a resources for Canadians to quickly find useful information on a board range of topics that affect their lives so that they can make informed decisions and optimize their life. It's about people helping people.
I also have my own motivations for creating this website. Aside from just wanting to help people, I also want to expand my skill sets in web design, web programming and web marketing. I feel I have a lot to learn in those areas and this project is a great opportunity for me to develop those skills.
The site just launched so it is early days. I will be constantly improving it from a user experience stand point and actively promoting it to generate more content.
